Thinking of moving to the UK?

Im currently debating on moving to the UK with a couple of my roomates. I was wondering if there is any advice out there as far as how much more expensive it is to live there vs. the US(groceries and things of that nature, I know gas is way higher). Is there work similar to what i do here, and how hard is it to find work there (slot technician: all aspects including fiber and data lines & IT: pc repair)? I have so many more questions but ill limit it to these right now, oh and not to start a debate or anything along those lines is there racism there (I know no matter where you go and what your ethnic background is you'll encounter it evrywhere but being that Im african-american and on of my roomies is mexican-american we wnat to know what to expect along those lines)?
