What is the United Kingdom?

does it help prevent bad things from happening and does the area have a lot to do with the violence rate that is suppose to be decreasing. Or is it just called the "united" kingdom

The united kingdom is an island (or islands) in Europe. It is also called Britain or Great Britain. "United Kingdom" is because it unites England, Scotland, N. Ireland and Wales.
