How safe is staying a couple of minutes from Victoria Station?

We will be staying at the Grapevine Hotel.

It's a reasonably safe area of London, but because of the large amount of visitors that pass through, there's obviously quite a few pickpockets around..... so always make sure your personal belongings are safe.

You will be within easy walking distance to Buckingham Palace - well worth a visit. If you then walk in an easterly direction along the Mall, you'll come to Admiralty Arch, beyond which the fabulous sight of Trafalgar Square, the National Gallery in the northern sector and Canada House to the West, with South Africa House on your right.

Trafalgar Square is the gateway to London's Theatreland. Walk up passing St.Martin in the Fields Church to your right and you will see the memorial statue of Edith Cavel, the English nurse shot as a spy by the Germans in WW-One.

Keep going, passing the National Portrait Gallery on your left and on past the statue of Henry Iving the Victorian Shakespearan actor. Take the next left and walk into Leicester Square. Shakespeare's statue in the middle somewhere and lots of prints in the pavement [sidewalk]. This is the star-studded centre of London and Theatreland with the most famous movie house [cinema] in the world, the Leicester Square ODEON.

ENJOY...you'll have a great time.

Should be reasonable safe. Don't leave anything valuable in your hotel room as thefts do happen. "Trip advisor" is a great site to check out hotel reviews and areas.

Obviously the hotel is ok and so is Victoria Station. Better run between the two though.

Crime happens all over london. So long as you are sensible, you should be fine, do not travel alone late at night, if you must take a black cab right to the door step.
Beware of pick pocketers who target tourists, keep belongings in a zipped up bag.

Hope your trip is a safe and enjoyable one
