Does domestic violence happen in Mexico?

The reason I am asking is because a friend of mine told me it was more common over there them it is here in the Uk and I don't believe them.

I believe Mexico has an outrageous stats in domestic violence. One thing for sure there is if they get found guilty of murder and is sentenced to death, they don't sit longer then 2yrs before they are injected lethally.

it happens everwhere... It is just more obvious in countries that have 24 hour news.

Why are people saying things like "probably even more so" and "of course"? Is Y!A full of ignorant and prejudiced idiots? And what does "that's just the culture" mean? That's just a stupid comment. The "culture" of Mexico is not to abuse women. Domestic violence happens everywhere. There is no country in the world that is free of that. Once you start trying to make it one country's problem that's when it becomes racist.
