Fiji has an unemployment problem, so you need to be able to offer a skill that cant be found locally to stand any chance of getting a work permit. The government is trying to make sure that the locals get first shot at the job and only allowing people to come in and do work that cant be found locally. Qualifications in the education or health field are probably the best to have, but you should contact the embassy in NZ to check. Otherwise, the other option is to start up your own business. A lot of Guesthouses and hotels are being bought and started up by Australian's and New Zealanders over there at the moment. Im not sure what the process to do that is though. |
