Advice on moving from Brisbane to Perth?

Hi, My wife, baby and I are wanting to relocate to Perth from Brisbane so that I can try to get a job in the mines. We don't have a great deal of furniture to move, probably only about 4 ute loads maximum. We have thought of ideas of renting a car and a trailer and driving across as this seems cheaper however we are just looking for any ideas on how to get across there with all of our stuff. Our car is very old and won't make it across however we would like to take it across on the train perhaps. If anyone has done this move and can offer any insight or names of companies to use to move with, we would really appreicate it. So far, we estimate the cost to be somewhere between $4500-$5000 at least to move our car and other things. Thanking you in advance for any advice.
